Hi Tom, Steve and I truly enjoyed getting to hear about your Yukon adventure when we met you, Nancy, and Jane at Liard springs on your way to your new home. Your reasons listed to move can't show the passion and excitement that was in your voices as we talked. We hope you are enjoying every minute of it!! Anne and Steve (from Georgia)

Tom,

No ticks huh? I suppose there are no biting flies and mosquitoes too? Tee hee hee. Have a blast! We'll be sending some birds your way shortly, if you could please catch them in a mist net it would be much appreciated.

Greetings Tom and Nancy,

What great writing, and you've made me truly envious. You'll have such a wonderful journey. Our slavery will not allow us to come visit you this summer, but we hope to make a trip there sometime after November.

We look forward to your postings as you journey, and we'll miss you here.

Safe Travels,

Craig and Joanie

Loved the blog and quote: "I reckon I got to light out for the territory ahead of the rest, because Aunt Polly’s tryin’ to civilise me. I’ve tried it, and it don’t work."

I think the beauty of your journey is that you recognize your own place in civilization in general - who would listen or read your stories if there were no folks around you to hear or read them! Who would you share your nature knowledge and experiences with? I am enthusiastically waiting to hear and read and experience your journey to a different version of civilization! Be safe on that journey my friend.
